Dog Behaviour Support in Geneva
Working with a behaviour specialist to better understand and support your dog
Do you live in Geneva and struggle with behavioural difficulties with your dog? Working with a certified dog behaviourist can help you better understand the situation and build a lasting, effective solution.
Dogs can develop many different behaviours that become difficult to manage in everyday life, including:
- reactivity
- aggressive behaviours
- fear or anxiety
- separation anxiety
- house soiling
- destructive behaviours
- excessive barking
- difficulties with handling or veterinary visits
These behaviours can be challenging to understand, but they do not happen randomly. Before beginning practical sessions, it is important to first identify and understand the underlying causes and establish the foundations for the work ahead. This is the purpose of the behavioural assessment.
Before booking, please take a moment to read our general conditions.
Following this initial assessment, I will be able to recommend the type of support best suited to your situation. The personalised programme of individual sessions will help you gradually improve everyday life with your dog.
Sessions can take place at your home, within your usual outdoor environment, or on the enclosed training field in Geneva (Satigny). Each session is followed by a detailed written summary sent by email, allowing the support to remain fully tailored to both your needs and those of your dog.

Supporting Dogs in Pain
Research by Daniel Mills et al. (2020) has highlighted the strong link between pain and behaviours that are often perceived as “undesirable” in dogs. Veterinary clinics involved in the study reported that behavioural problems observed during consultations were associated with chronic pain in 23% to 82% of cases. The medical conditions most commonly linked to these situations are primarily orthopaedic, but may also include ear disease, dermatological conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, or dental pain.
The following list presents some behavioural signs that may indicate discomfort or pain. This list is not exhaustive:
- Vocalisations
- Changes in attitude: withdrawal, avoidance of contact, fatigue, reduced appetite, apathy, agitation, separation-related distress, intolerance to touch, fears, house-soiling, destructive behaviours, excessive barking
- Behavioural signs: excessive licking, distance-increasing aggression, nipping, increased resource guarding, repeated rubbing or scratching of a specific area of the body, excessive ingestion (for example grass eating), reactivity
- Postural changes: immobility, a hunched posture, lowered head, abdominal tension
- Reduced mobility: limping or any unusual gait may indicate injury or joint or muscular discomfort.
Through my extensive continuing education and qualifications, I have developed an in-depth understanding of canine anatomy and physiological systems. This knowledge allows me to recognise potential underlying discomfort or pain that may be contributing to the behaviour we observe.
Identifying these possible underlying factors is an important step in understanding the dog as a whole and ensuring that behavioural support takes into account both the emotional and physical well-being of the dog.
